I've just finished knitting this lovely vest, which came from a kit my mother bought me several years ago. The prospect of knitting it wasn't really appealing to me back then. I felt it would be complicated and would take a lot of time. On the contrary, I was surprised at how much it was simple and fun. It certainly helped that my grandmother taught me how to knit when I was only 8 years old. She was a very patient woman. I'm not saying it was hard to teach me though; out of her three grandkids I was the one that was more promising in the art. I remember one of my cousins' knitting was so tight that at one point, the needles wouldn't pass the stitches. I'm really grateful to my grandmother for teaching me how to knit, somehow I take it as her legacy and that's why I probably like it so much. That vest only took me 3 days to make. I could not stop... One night I knitted till 2 o'clock in the morning! I'm really happy with the result and I'm excited to see what my next knitting project will be.
The kit came from Wool and the Gang, a company that promotes community, sustainability and creativity. It was founded in Europe, more precisely in England by four women. Needless to say, the quality of their products and the designs are just flawless. Their kits make perfect gifts, so if your looking to find something to give or receive you should think of them.
